Former official of the Ministry was put on an electronic bracelet

The Sheki Court of Appeal has announced a decision on the case of the former director of the Sheki Regional Employment Center of the State Employment Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Elchin Salamov, report.az informs.
The court dismissed the defendant’s appeal. According to the decision, the verdict on restraint of liberty (electronic bracelet) handed down by the court of first instance was retained unchanged.
According to the indictment, from 2006 to 2019, E. Salamov worked as the director of the Sheki Regional Employment Center. During his tenure, he embezzled money allocated to the Center. E. Salamov was charged under the articles of the Criminal Code, providing for liability for misappropriation, abuse of official powers and official forgery. A measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen against him.
By the decision of the Sheki District Court, he was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of restraint of liberty (electronic bracelet). Dissatisfied with the verdict, the convict filed an appeal.
