Detained “journalist”-racketeer, who extorted large sums of money

The Yevlakh District Police Department received information that a certain Sanan, posing as a journalist, extorted 15,000 manats from a resident of the city through blackmail, oxu.az reports.

Police officers detained local residents suspected of extortion – the founder of the Internet portal Kanal S.az Sanan Alekperov and Teymur Rustamov.

During the investigation, it turned out that they also demanded 6,000 manats from citizens E. Misirkhanova and G. Suleymanova.

On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 182 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an investigation is underway.
