Suspects detained for stealing large sums of money

As a result of operational-search activities, police officers detained residents of the Sheki region – Shahid Balliyev and Nijat Abdulkerimov, previously convicted of similar acts, suspected of committing a major theft, oxu.az reports.

Thus, the owner of one of the houses located in the territory of the village of Almaly, Gakh district, turned to the police and said that 9,300 dollars and 4,000 manats, as well as jewelry, had been stolen from him.

During the investigation, it was established that Sh. Balliyev, who previously worked as a shepherd on the farm of the victim, entered into an agreement with N. Abdulkerimov, who lives in Baku, and at night they entered the house of the former employer.

Taking the money and gold jewelry, the attackers went to the Sheki region, where they divided 4,000 manats among themselves, and put the dollars in a jar and buried them in the yard of N. Abdulkerimov. Currency and gold jewelry were confiscated from the detainees as material evidence.

In his testimony, Sh. Balliyev admitted that in January he stole 10,000 manats from the same house, which he spent in restaurants in Baku.
