More than 100 kg of drugs seized and 38 persons detained over the past 20 days

During the operations carried out by the Main Department for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs over the past 20 days, 38 more people were detained for smuggling a large quantity of drugs and establishing a drug network, APA reports quoting the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.

As a result, more than 100 kg of drugs and psychotropic substances, 1,000 psychotropic tablets and about 4 kg of mercury were seized from illegal circulation.

On the facts, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, and a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen by a court decision against persons detained on charges of drug trafficking and psychotropic substances.
