Armenian terrorists sentenced

The trial of two more Armenian citizens Sargsyan Ishkhan Ashoti and Rafaelyan Vladimir Otari, who are accused of terrorism, continued, APA reports.

At the trial, which took place in the administrative building of the Sabunchu district court, chaired by the judge of the Ganja Court for Grave Crimes Elmin Rustamov, the lawyers of the accused spoke. Then Sargsyan Ishkhan Ashoti and Rafaelyan Vladimir Otari were given the floor.

According to the verdict of the judicial board, Ishkhan Sargsyan was sentenced to 19 years in prison, Vladimir Rafelyan – to 18 years. The verdict also noted that both persons will serve 9 years in prison, and the remaining term of punishment in a strict regime colony.

According to the indictment, on May 27, 2021, the commander of the group in the military unit of the special forces of the intelligence of the Armenian Defense Ministry Sargsyan Ishkhan Ashoti and Rafaelyan Vladimir Otari, who served as a sapper, carried out mining on the roads passing through the territory of the village of Yukhari Ayrim in the Kalbajar region on May 27, 2021.

Both defendants were charged under articles 214.2.3 of the Criminal Code (terrorism committed with the use of firearms and objects used as weapons), 228 (illegal acquisition of weapons), 318 (illegal crossing of the state border) and 282 (provocation).
