40 people arrested for fakes about COVID-19

As noted in the report of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan on the results of activities in 2021, during the Covid-19 pandemic (from March 14, 2020 to January 1, 2022), 100 people were identified in Azerbaijan who spread fakes (false information) on social networks, 60 of them were fined, 40 persons were placed under administrative arrest by the courts, the report.az information internet portal reports.

It was noted that since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,308 criminal cases have been initiated under Article 139-1 of the Criminal Code for creating a real threat of the spread of diseases by violating the quarantine regime.
