Proposal for tougher punishment for Internet drug dealers

In Azerbaijan, persons involved in the sale of drugs and psychotropic substances through the Internet will be held criminally liable, oxu.az reports. In this regard, it is proposed to amend the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the amendment, for the illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors using the mass media, including information resources of the Internet or information and telecommunication networks, will be punished with imprisonment freedom for a period of 5 to 12 years.
