Another former head of the Ministry of Defense detained

Another former head of department of the Ministry of Defense was detained, APA reports.

Thus, the former head of the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Ministry, Fikret Mirzoev, was detained as part of a criminal case initiated by the State Security Service. He is accused of embezzlement on an especially large scale. He was charged under Article 179.4 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Fikret Mirzoev was relieved of his post two years ago.

The State Security Service continues to investigate the criminal case on the facts of misappropriation in the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, the head of the Finance and Budget Department of the Defense Ministry, Major General Nizami Mammadov, and a number of officials were arrested.
