Court judgement against the former head of the Bilasuvar district executive power

The trial on the criminal case of the former head of the Executive Power of Bilasuvar region Mahir Guliyev has completed, APA reports. At the trial chaired by the judge of the Lankaran Court for Grave Crimes Mushfig Mammadov in the administrative building of the Sabunchi District Court, a judgement was read, according to which he was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

M. Guliyev was detained on April 29, 2020 as a result of an operation by the State Security Service.

The investigating authority charged him under articles 179 (theft and embezzlement), 308.1 (abuse of official position), 311.3.2 (repeated bribe-taking) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
