Three persons detained in case of explosion in Baku nightclub

Investigation of the criminal case initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code on the fact of the explosion on April 3 at about 03 am in the night club “Location”, located on the first floor of a residential building on the territory of the Sabail district of Baku, as a result of which 1 person died and 37 people were injured of varying severity, as well as 14 cars, 1 apartment and 2 non-residential objects were damaged, the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office is conducting, the report.az information Internet portal reports.

The Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office established that a gas cylinder filled with compressed gas was used illegally in the kitchen of the said facility, and also in violation of the requirements of the current regulations, the explosion of which led to the destruction and fire in the building.

Responsible for compliance with fire safety rules in the specified institution, the tenant of Merser food LLC, as well as the administrator of the nightclub Rasul Rasulov, as well as the founder of the same organization, the club manager Orkhan Safarov, was detained for violating safety rules that resulted in death or serious consequences for health.

At the same time, during the investigation, it was established that the inspector of the 2nd Territorial Department of the State Fire Supervision Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Ruslan Mammadov, who is responsible for ensuring fire safety in the said territory, committed negligence in the performance of his duties. He is also involved as an accused under Article 314.2 of the Criminal Code.

In relation to all three persons, by the relevant decisions of the Binagadi district court, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen.

The criminal investigation is currently ongoing.
