The President took part in the opening of a new building of the Institute of Theology

On April 11, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a new administrative building of the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, which operates under the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations. In multinational and multi-confessional Azerbaijan, relations between the state and religion, the foundation of which was laid by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, are at a high level and are successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.

In our country, national and religious tolerance is maintained at the state level, a lot of work has been done and is being done to further strengthen the multicultural way of life. It is no coincidence that the Azerbaijani model of tolerance is being studied in many universities around the world, including the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, the new building of which has been put into operation today.

President Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the conditions created in the new building.

Informing the head of state, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli said that the institute has a faculty of theology, departments of religious studies, Islamic studies, languages ​​and social disciplines. The institute trains highly qualified personnel at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. At the institute, at the undergraduate level, the specialties “Religious Studies” and “Islamic Studies” are taught; – “Religious Studies”, “History and Philosophy of Religion”.

Education at all three levels is carried out under the state order. In addition to various disciplines in religious and Islamic studies, the institute also teaches social and humanitarian subjects, including English, Arabic and Hebrew.
