Journalist arrested for extortion

A journalist was detained in Masalli, APA reports.

Thus, on April 13, 2022, Israfil Aliyev, a representative of the Masalli District Executive Power for the village of Sygdash, turned to the district police department and said that the head of the cənub.az website, Zahir Emenov, threatening to distribute his son’s audio recording on social networks, demanded 1,500 manats from him .

Zahir Emenov was detained, a criminal case was opened on the fact under Article 182 (extortion) of the Criminal Code.
