Statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the arrest of a former employee of the Ministry of Defense

Former employee of the Internal Security Service of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, as well as the department of education and scientific research of the department, retired senior officer Zahid Niftaliyev has been arrested, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The Investigation Department of the Military Prosecutor’s Office initiated a criminal case under Articles 178.2.1, 178.2.2, 178.2.3, 178.2.4, 32.4, 312.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Z. Niftaliyev was put on the wanted list for evading investigation. Yesterday he was arrested, and a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen by a court decision.
