Opening of the 27th International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition

Today, the largest event in the energy sector of the Caspian region, the 27th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition Caspian Oil & Gas 2022, started at the Baku Expo Center within the framework of the Baku Energy Week, APA reports.

President Ilham Aliyev takes part in the opening of the event. In particular, speaking at the conference, the President said that “…energy security was not fully ensured. There were power outages, problems with the gas supply. So we started working harder to ensure our own energy security, and it happened. Also, in parallel, we actively worked with international investors, leading global energy companies in order to increase oil production and its supply to international markets. At the end of the last century, an important event took place: the first oil pipeline was opened from Azerbaijan to the Black Sea coast of Georgia – Supsa. This allowed us to start exporting and meet the needs of many countries.”

The President noted that after the opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline in 2007, the export of Azerbaijani gas began for the first time. The head of state stressed that Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, as well as all other energy and transport infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan, are being implemented continuously, which, in the opinion of the President, demonstrates the possibility of forecasting, reliability, which shows that Azerbaijan is able to implement such global infrastructure projects.
