Details of the operation carried out by the State Security Service at the State Customs Committee

Some details of the operation carried out yesterday by the State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan in the State Customs Committee (SCC) have become known, oxu.az reports. It became a continuation of the operational-search activities that were carried out a few days ago at the warehouses of companies located in the Bina and Sadarak shopping centers.

In the course of this operation, the facts of tax evasion by many companies importing goods into the country, forgery of documents, failure to indicate and understatement of the real number of imported goods were revealed. After that, operational activities were carried out in the Silk Road and Absheron terminals in the Garadagh region, which are the main ones in the process of importing / exporting goods in the direction of Baku, as well as in the Azerterminalcomplex association of the State Customs Committee.

As part of the operation, the management of the terminals, who was appointed several months ago, was detained, as well as the head of the Azerterminal Complex, Major General of the Customs Service Ehtiram Khalilov.

During the event, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Igbal Babayev, who is responsible for the entire electronic system of the State Customs Committee, was also detained. However, later it became known that after testifying in connection with suspicions of changing data in the electronic system, he was released.
