Azerbaijan allocates funds to create food security reserve

Azerbaijan is allocating funds to create food security reserve, Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said on Thursday, answering journalists’ questions, trend.az reports.

The minister noted that given the rise in food prices, 193 million manats were allocated to create a reserve in the field of food security as part of the amendments to the state budget for the current year. According to him, the government, in accordance with the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, has prepared and is implementing certain anti-inflationary measures.

According to S. Sharifov, most of them are connected, first of all, with the elimination of existing customs duties and certain taxes on food products imported to Azerbaijan. That is, in connection with this, appropriate decisions are made. As a result of the implementation of these decisions, there will be some price reduction.
