State Security Service operation: two Azerbaijani citizens detained

Based on the information received about the illegal crossing of the state border of Azerbaijan by foreign citizens, the State Security Service jointly with the State Border Service conducted an investigation, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the State Security Service.

Thus, in the course of operational and investigative measures, reasonable suspicions arose that the citizens of Azerbaijan Rasif Agayev (born 1991) and Enver Isayev (born 1970) entered into a criminal conspiracy with some persons living in Iran, and for the money organized the illegal transfer of foreign citizens from this country to Azerbaijan, bypassing checkpoints.

It was established that for this purpose, R. Agayev, using a night vision device and other technical means, illegally crossed the state border through the territory of the village of Arvana, Yardimli region, transported foreigners from the Iranian side to Azerbaijan, after which he took them to the house of E. Isayev in that village, and from there he took him to his house in Baku. During operational activities, both persons, as well as foreign citizens, were detained.

R. Agaev and E. Isaev were prosecuted under article 318.2 (illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan by a group of persons by prior agreement) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The investigation of the State Security Service is ongoing.
