President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of Kalbajar-1 small hydroelectric power station
On June 26, 2022, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev traveled to Goygol, Kalbajar and Lachin regions, APA reports.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of a new small hydropower plant (SHPP) Kalbajar-1 with a capacity of 4.4 MW, built in the Kalbajar region, which is the first energy production facility built and put into operation in Kalbajar after its liberation from occupation.
At the Kalbajar-1 SHPP, which, in accordance with the “green energy zone” concept, will produce environmentally friendly energy, a turbine hall has been built, a new unit, generator, control panels and transformers have been installed. A 110/6 kV substation has also been built here. SHPP “Kalbajar-1” is connected to the common energy system of Azerbaijan. The operation of the new station, where there is the possibility of digital connection and disconnection, intelligent control, operational monitoring and analysis, can be controlled and managed not only from Kalbajar, but also from the Main Control Center in Baku. Remotely controlled SHPPs are operated, one might say, without working personnel. The station control system is fully automated, digitalized with special software, which helps to reduce the cost of electricity produced.
In accordance with the instruction of the head of state on the transformation of the territories liberated from occupation into a “green energy zone”, after the Victory in the Patriotic War, small hydroelectric power stations “Gülebird”, “Sugovushan-1”, “Sugovushan-2” and “Kalbajar- 1” with a total capacity of 20 megawatts. To date, these plants have produced 30 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
