Lawyer accused of committing fraud on a large scale

The reason for the arrest of well-known lawyer Elchin Gambarov has become known, oxu.az reports.

E. Gambarov, who for many years was the head of the law office “Center”, is accused of committing criminal acts under Article 178.4 (fraud causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is charged with misappropriation of more than 500,000 manats.

In the Sabail district court, on the basis of a petition from the investigative body of the State Security Service, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months was chosen in respect of E. Gambarov.

He was a member of the Presidium of the Bar Association.
