The term of arrest of General Nizami Mammadov, accused of misappropriation of public funds, has been extended

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case of the former head of the Finance and Budget Department of the Defense Ministry, Major-General Nizami Mammadov, continues, APA reports.

The investigating body submitted a proposal to extend the measure of restraint in the form of arrest, chosen in relation to N. Mammadov. At a meeting in the Baku Military Court, the submission was satisfied. By the decision of the court, the period of arrest of N. Mammadov was extended for 3 months.

Major General N. Mammadov was detained during a special operation of the State Security Service.

By the decision of the Baku Military Court, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for 4 months was chosen against him. He is accused of misappropriation of 80 million 600 thousand manats.
