State Border Service: 646 border regime violators detained in June

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan (SBS) continues measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border, fight against smuggling, illegal migration, illegal drug trafficking. Report was told in the press center of the State Border Service.

During the events carried out by the State Border Service and in June, 38 people were detained for violating the border. In addition, 18 people were detained trying to cross the border with fake Schengen visas.

With regard to 646 detainees for violation of the rules of the border regime, appropriate legal measures were taken.

Law enforcement agencies detained 216 wanted persons, prevented 478 people from leaving the country who were banned from leaving the country, and 19 people who were banned from entering Azerbaijan from entering the country.

As part of measures to combat drug trafficking, 79 kg 394 g of narcotic substances, 9,162 psychotropic pills, 15 tons 498 kg of wild-growing hemp (14,508 bushes) were withdrawn from circulation.

Smuggling for the total amount of 2 million 591 thousand 274 manats was prevented.
