Operation at the State Customs Committee: deputy chiefs of the departments detained

Employees of the State Security Service carried out an operation at the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports.

As a result, Rashad Babayev, deputy head of the Main Customs Department for Energy Resources and Maritime Transport, and Shukur Safarov, deputy head of the department for transport taxes, were detained.

A few days ago, the former director of the Azerterminalcomplex association of the State Customs Committee, Major General Ehtiram Khalilov, was detained during a special operation carried out by the State Security Service. He is accused of accepting large bribes and abuse of power. The Sabail District Court chose E. Khalilov as a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of four months.
