Minister: We will complete the provision of housing for the families of martyrs and war invalids

This year, 600 apartments have already been provided to this category of people, and the planned plan is 1,500 apartments, APA reports. This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev at a meeting dedicated to the results of six months of this year chaired by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The Minister noted that over the next two months it is planned to provide another 500 apartments and private houses to our citizens from this category. Thus, in accordance with your instructions, we will complete the provision of housing for the families of martyrs and war invalids, who are the main contingent, in the territories of Baku, Sumgayit and Absheron. In parallel, this work continues in the regions and large cities. In addition, in the first half of this year, 100 cars were presented to war invalids.

Another area is employment. In the post-war period, meetings have already been held with 19,000 family members of martyrs, war invalids and participants in the Patriotic War. The possibilities of their involvement in the active employment program were assessed, in accordance with their wishes, most of them – 8 thousand people were involved in self-employment programs. This is an opportunity to build a small family farm for 8,000 families and create a permanent source of income. The main source here was the Unemployment Insurance Fund, that is, public funds. In parallel, a project is being implemented with the World Bank. In accordance with the instruction given by you at previous meetings, the Association of Banks and the Confederation of Trade Unions have joined this process,” the minister said.
