Baku hosts Youth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement

On July 25-29, 2022 the Youth Summit of the countries participating in the Non-Aligned Movement is being held in Baku. It is attended by youth representatives from over 60 countries of the Non-Aligned Movement, trend.az reports.

At the opening ceremony, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov read out the address of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the summit. Then the current chairman of the youth network of the Non-Aligned Movement, Ordukhan Gakhramanzade, spoke.

The summit participants will discuss the final documents of the event, take part in a session on the simulation of the Non-Aligned Movement model, in a training session on the effective management of organizations, in panel discussions with the participation of various officials, and make presentations.

The forum will also include a visit to the Gala Ethnographic Museum and an intercultural exchange event. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov is expected to attend the closing ceremony of the summit.

On the last day of the event, a visit of its participants to the town of Shusha is planned.

The main significance of the summit lies in the fact that its participants will discuss the issue of transforming the youth network of the Non-Aligned Movement, established in November last year, into an international organization. If an agreement is reached in the town of Shusha, a decision is expected to be made on the transformation of the network into an organization, as well as on the approval of its logo and flag.
