State Security Service: a person who committed fraud against participants in the Patriotic War was arrested

A person who committed fraud against the participants of the Patriotic War was arrested, reports the Internet news portal report.az, citing the press service of the State Security Service.

Based on the information received about numerous facts of fraud against participants in the Patriotic War and theft of their material assets, on July 25, 2022, the State Security Service initiated a criminal case.

It was established that Azerbaijani citizen Aliyev Elvin Firudin oglu, born in 1987, collected information on the Internet about persons who took part in the Patriotic War, and then called authorized persons of local executive authorities in the territory of residence of veterans, and, introducing himself as the head of a department in the Presidential Administration Azerbaijan, under the guise of providing one-time material assistance through them, established contact with veterans.

Thus, he has called to a number of participants in the Patriotic War, and, having informed them about the allocation of one-time material assistance from the state, he asked to send him money to open bank accounts in order to accrue material assistance and other current expenses.

Elvin Aliyev was charged under articles 178.2.2 (repeated fraud) and 310 (appropriation of powers of an official) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen against him by a court decision.

Currently, investigative and operational activities are ongoing to establish the full circle of persons affected by the criminal acts of Elvin Aliyev.
