Suspect detained for massive social media scam

Police officers detained Jamal Aliguliyev (born 2004), suspected of mass fraud by selling expensive mobile phones at low prices on social networks and on ad sites, oxu.az reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, suspicions arose that J. Aliguliyev, deceiving people who wanted to buy mobile phones offered by him at a reduced price, embezzled 200 or 300 manats under the pretext of initial payments, as well as other amounts through online transfers. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
