Drug-related persons detained, a large amount of narcotic drugs seized

During the operation carried out by the officers of the police department of the Balakyan region, 6 people were detained on the territory of the region and handed over to the investigation, who were engaged in the sale and cultivation of narcotic plants. In total, about 5 kilograms of narcotic drugs were detected and seized from illegal circulation, APA reports quoting the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Thus, as a result of measures taken on the basis of the operational information received, a resident of the village of Gyaryakli, previously convicted Farkhad Garayev, was detained. During the inspection, dried marijuana with a total weight of 4 kilograms, as well as parts of hemp plants, were found and seized in his presence and at his address. The detainee stated in his testimony that he purchased the drug from hemp bushes, which he had grown in July, and then hid it in the attic of the house.

As a result of other operations carried out by the criminal investigation department of the anti-drug group, 4 more residents of the district were detained – Rahib Huseynov, Yagub Garayev, Royal Miraliyev and Elchin Balagezov. During the investigation, it was found that some of the detainees had previously been convicted of similar acts. At the indicated persons and at their addresses, various types of narcotic drugs were found and transferred to the investigation.

Criminal cases have been initiated on the facts, investigative and operational measures are ongoing.
