A criminal case was initiated against the chairman of the municipality

A criminal case has been initiated against the chairman of the Neftchala municipality, oxu.az reports with reference to the prosecutor’s office of the Neftchala region.

According to the information, an investigation was conducted into the theft of funds by officials of the said municipality at different periods of time. As a result, reasonable suspicions arose of unjustified write-offs from the budget of the municipality of funds for food assistance in the amount of 3,236 manats, as well as misappropriation by the chairman of the municipality, Rovshan Guliyev, of part of the funds in the amount of 8,600 manats, transferred to the grocery store on a payment order.

In this regard, a criminal case was initiated in the district prosecutor’s office under articles 179.2.3 (misappropriation or embezzlement committed by a person using his official position) and 179.2.4 (misappropriation or embezzlement causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.
