Crime committed 29 years ago solved

The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan have released joint information, APA reports. The information says. that as a result of joint investigative and operational-search measures, the disclosure of an especially grave crime committed 29 years ago was ensured.

So, on November 26, 1993, a criminal case was initiated and an investigation was conducted under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code on the fact of the discovery of the body of Fikret Ibragimov in his apartment with gunshot wounds as a result of a shot from a firearm, but the proceedings were terminated due to the impossibility of identifying the person who committed the crime.

After re-examination of the materials of the criminal case by the prosecutor’s office of the Narimanov district, the proceedings were resumed.

On October 28, 2022, Nazim Bayramov was charged under part 2 of Article 94 of the Criminal Code, which was in force until September 1, 2000 (premeditated murder under aggravated circumstances) and under Article 228.1 of the current Criminal Code (illegal possession, acquisition, transfer, sale, transportation of firearms). weapons, their components, ammunition, explosives and devices).

Investigative activities in the criminal case are ongoing.
