A new amnesty will be applied in connection with pensions

On December 26, 2022, the Milli Majlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy discussed the draft amendments to the Law on Labor Pensions, APA reports. The amendments provide for the introduction of an urgent amnesty when withholding the amount of the already paid labor pension and the supplement to the labor pension.

According to the rules, this amount is withheld with the consent of the labor pensioner on the basis of the decision of the body assigning the labor pension, in the absence of his consent – in court. According to the current legislation, at that time the return of the excess amount was carried out without setting a deadline. But according to the new changes, only the excess amount paid for the last 3 years will be withheld.

Thus, according to committee member Vugar Bayramov, if a pensioner was overpaid for various reasons until 2020, then in accordance with the new changes, this payment will not be requested back. The changes provide for an amnesty for the period until 2020.

The new changes are expected to take effect next month.
