State Customs Committee employee arrested for financial fraud

An employee of the Azərterminalkompleks association of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan, Javid Mammadov, has been detained, oxu.az reports.

He is suspected of the circulation of funds not declared to the customs authorities, illegal financial fraud through truck drivers. According to preliminary information, he was detained while trying to bring dollars and rubles into the country.

Since yesterday, the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General has been conducting an operation in the department of excise goods of the State Customs Committee. There are detainees, the operation continues.
