Prosecutor’s office on the fight against corruption in 2022

In 2022, 45 people were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe, Report news agency reported, citing Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev’s speech at an expanded meeting of the Board of the Prosecutor General’s Office dedicated to the results of 2022 and tasks for the future.

The Prosecutor General noted that the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan initiated 341 criminal cases on corruption offenses, completed proceedings on 209 cases against 274 persons, after which they were sent to court. As a result of 37 operational activities carried out by the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General, 45 persons who committed corruption crimes, as well as 12 wanted persons, were caught red-handed.
