Criminal case initiated on the fact of embezzlement of state property

A criminal case has been initiated in the Balakan region on the fact of embezzlement of state property, Report news agency reported. The agency reports that the district prosecutor’s office conducted an investigation into the illegal actions that took place in the Gullar municipality. During the investigation, reasonable suspicions were established that Ramazan Omarov embezzled state property during his tenure as chairman of the municipality.

In fact, the prosecutor’s office of the Balakan region initiated a criminal case under articles 179.2.3 (misappropriation with the use of one’s official position) and 179.2.4 (appropriation with causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The preliminary investigation is currently ongoing.
