An attempt to violate the state border was prevented

Azerbaijani border guards prevented an attempt to violate the state border, Report news agency reported citing the press center of the State Border Service.

On February 6, 2023, at 00:18, a man was detained at the service area of the border outpost of the border detachment “Horadiz” of the border troops of the State Border Service near the village of Boyuk Bakhmenli, Fizuli region, while trying to illegally cross the Iranian-Azerbaijani border.

A citizen of Azerbaijan, Babek Rafail oglu Mansurov, born in 1980, who had previously been repeatedly convicted, was detained, who admitted the fact of an attempt to illegally import drugs into the country.

During a personal search, more than 7 kg of marijuana, as well as heroin, methamphetamine, and methadone M-40 tablets were found and confiscated from the man.

Operational and investigative activities are ongoing.
