Suspect detained for stealing electrical equipment worth AZN 25,000

A man who stole electrical equipment from transformer stations in the Khatai and Garadagh districts of the capital was detained, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

It is noted that an unknown person stole the voltage and current transformers, breaking the doors of the point. As a result, serious damage was caused to power transmission lines of national importance.

Thanks to the operation carried out by the employees of the Khatai District Police Department, the previously convicted Dayanet Karimli, suspected of committing this crime, was detained. In the course of the investigation, it became known that he also committed two thefts at transformer points in the Lokbatan settlement of the Garadagh region.

By his actions, D. Karimli caused damage to the state institution in the amount of 25,000 manats. According to these facts, a criminal case was initiated in the investigation department of the Khatai District Police Department.
