Judgment against the chairman of a public association

The process on the criminal case of Rasim Mammadov, chairman of the public association Coalition of Public Control, has completed, oxu.az reports citing APA. The verdict was announced at a meeting of the Sumgayit city court chaired by Judge Elchin Mammadov.

The defendant was found guilty of hooliganism and sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison. He was arrested in February 2022 and a criminal case was initiated under Article 221.3 (hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons, if this was accompanied by the use of violence against the victim) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
