The police seized an automatic weapon

As a result of an operation carried out by employees of the Sabunchu district department and the 42nd police station, a resident of the village of Nardaran, previously convicted of theft and drug-related crimes, Abdulali Abdulov, was detained, suspected of illegal possession of firearms, Report news agency reported citing the press service of the Ministry internal affairs.

Police officers seized an automatic weapon of the AKMS brand with an erased number and a magazine for it with 23 cartridges, which Abdulov buried in the gardens of Lahij on the territory of the village.

A criminal case has been initiated on the fact under article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of firearms, their components, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices). An investigation is underway in the Sabunchu Regional Unitary Enterprise.
