Former official to face trial

The Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has completed the investigation of the criminal case on the illegal actions of the ex-head of the Department of the Republican Psychiatric Hospital No. 1 of the Ministry of Health Hussein Seyidov, oxu.az reports citing the press service of the supervisory agency.

The investigation revealed reasonable suspicions that G. Seyidov in March-December 2022, while working in this position, entered into a criminal conspiracy with various persons and received bribes for entering false information into medical documents about examination and treatment in the hospital of this hospital.

Based on the collected evidence, G. Seyidov was charged under Articles 308.1 (abuse of power), 311.3.1, 311.3.2 (taking a bribe by a group of persons by prior agreement or by an organized group) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen against him, the criminal case was sent for consideration to the Baku Court for Grave Crimes.

An investigation is ongoing to identify other persons involved in the commission of unlawful acts.
