The head of the site accused of fraud was sentenced

The judicial investigation in the criminal case against the head of the website Etibar Togrul (Aliyev), who is accused of fraud, has been completed, oxu.az reports. The verdict was read at the meeting held in the Baku Grave Crimes Court under the leadership of Judge Ilham Mahmudov.

According to the verdict, E.Togrul, who was found guilty under Article 178.3.2 (Fraud, that is, taking possession of another’s property or acquiring the right to another’s property by deceit or abuse of trust, causing major damage) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 8 years.

It should be noted that the defendant worked as the editor-in-chief of the Xəbər var newspaper and the editor of the Vetenperverler.az website. Also, E.Togrul is the head of the news portals XeberBiz.com and TehsilXeber.com.
