Drug traffickers and persons illegally carrying weapons detained

During the operational activities carried out by the employees of the Surakhani District Anti-Drug Department and the territorial police department, 9 participants in drug trafficking were detained in the villages of Hovsan, Yeni Guneshli, Garachukhur, Bulbulya, Amirjan, Report informs citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs . A total of 8 kg of heroin, opium, marijuana and methamphetamine were found. The detainees reported that they purchased drugs online in social networks from unknown Iranian citizens with the aim of further sale in the capital.

During May of this year, during the operations carried out in Surakhani on suspicion of organizing drug trafficking, 45 people were detained. In respect of each of them, the investigation department of the police department continues to investigate.

During this period, four persons who illegally carried weapons were also detained and prosecuted in the Surakhani region. They found a Kalashnikov assault rifle, 2 pistols, an undocumented TOZ shotgun and 12 rounds of ammunition.
