Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Hospital convicted on charges of corruption released

Rufat Velizade and Taleh Imanli, former employees of the modular hospital of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, convicted on charges of corruption, were released, oxu.az reports citing Qafqazinfo. They were released on parole from the correctional facility in connection with serving a third of the sentence.

Some time ago, the former head physician of the medical facility, Imran Agayev, was also released in a similar manner. Imran Agayev and others were charged with accepting bribes for placing patients in the VIP building of the hospital and transferring them from his MediStyle clinic to the Ministry of Emergency Situations hospital.

The Baku Grave Crimes Court sentenced Imran Agayev to 8 years and 3 months, Rufat Velizade to 8 years and 1 month, Taleh Imanli to 8 years and 1 month, and Gulu Orudzhov to 5 years in prison. Later, the Baku Court of Appeal reduced the sentences of Imran Agayev to 4 years, Rufat Alizade and Taleh Imanly to 3 years and 6 months, and the Supreme Court to all of them to 2 years and 6 months.
