School director accused of embezzlement of public funds

The director of a secondary school in the village of Shahvaladly, Dashkasan district, is suspected of embezzling state funds, oxu.az reports citing the district prosecutor’s office. So, based on the appeals of citizens in connection with the fact of violations in the above educational institution, an investigation was conducted.

It was found that the school principal Roman Tagiev in 2020-2023 unreasonably squandered funds allocated from the state budget for the payment of wages, and also committed other illegal actions.

On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under articles 179.2.2 (Assignment or embezzlement) and 308.1 (Abuse of office) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an investigation is underway.
