The head of the Public Association arrested

Elvin Mahmudzade, chairman of the “Patriots of Azerbaijan” Public Association, has been brought to trial, oxu.az reports citing APA. The head of the organization was detained on the basis of a complaint from a participant in the Patriotic War.

According to the information, E. Mahmudzade is accused of misappropriation of a large amount of money allocated for veterans. He was charged under article 178.2.3 (Repeated fraud using his official position) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 4 months was chosen against him by the decision of the Nasimi District Court.
