Statement of the Higher Attestation Commission on criminal prosecution of Shafa Aliyev

The Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a statement in connection with the Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Shafa Aliyev, who was brought to justice by the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General.

According to APA, the information of the Commission says: “Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Shafa Aliyev, mentioned in the information released on July 12, 2023 by the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is not an employee of the Commission, but works as a professor at Sumgayit State University. and by the decision of the Presidium of the Commission dated September 29, 2020, he was appointed a member of the expert council for economic sciences and academic secretary.

The Commission is interested in identifying such negative circumstances that may damage its reputation, and will provide the necessary support to the relevant authorities in an objective investigation of the case.”
