Hacker put on international wanted list extradited to Azerbaijan

A person put on the international wanted list by Azerbaijan was detained in the UK and extradited to Azerbaijan, oxu.az reports with reference to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the information, based on a request from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the authorized bodies of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland decided to extradite citizen of the Republic of Moldova Ion Secrier in accordance with the requirements of the European Convention on Extradition of December 13, 1957.

Thus, the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan put Ion Secrier on the international wanted list on charges of causing significant damage and illegal interference in computer systems and databases of public infrastructure facilities.

The accused was detained in the UK and on September 29, 2023, brought to Azerbaijan accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
