The trial of Vagif Khachaturyan will take place in the building of the Yasamal District Court
The trial in the criminal case against Vagif Khachaturyan, accused of genocide of the Azerbaijani population in the village of Meshali, Khojaly region in 1991, will be held in the administrative building of the Yasamal district court. Report informs, the reason is the lack of a large courtroom in the building of the Baku Military Court. The preparatory meeting is scheduled for October 13, 20123. The criminal case will be considered by the Baku Military Court, chaired by Judge Jamal Ramazanov.
58 citizens and the executive power of the Khojaly region were recognized as victims in the case. On December 22, 1991, Vagif Khachaturyan, as part of Armenian military formations, carried out a massacre of Azerbaijanis in the village of Meshali, Khojaly region. 25 Azerbaijanis were killed, 14 wounded, and 358 village residents became refugees. It was decided to bring Vagif Cherkezovich Khachaturyan to justice as a defendant under Articles 103 (genocide) and 107 (deportation or forced relocation of the population) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
