Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan on illegal possession of weapons by some citizens

After the Patriotic War and local anti-terrorist measures, there have been cases where individuals illegally store, carry, transfer to others and sell weapons acquired in various ways. These cases create criminal liability, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ appeal to citizens who illegally store weapons and ammunition.

“A person who voluntarily surrenders illegally stored firearms, ammunition, or explosives is exempt from liability if he did not use these items in the commission of a crime. Persons who informed law enforcement agencies about the illegal storage, sale, etc. of firearms and ammunition will be awarded while maintaining confidentiality,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan said in a statement.
