The prosecutor demanded severe punishment for bribe-taking officials caught red-handed

A judicial investigation into the criminal case of former department heads of the Sabunchu District Military Commissariat Adil Huseynov and Togrul Iskenderov, accused of taking bribes, has been completed, oxu.az reports. At a meeting in the Baku Military Court, the prosecutor made an accusatory speech. He demanded that A. Guseinov and T. Iskenderov be sentenced to nine years in prison. The lawyers were given time to prepare to present their defense.

It is noted that the accused were arrested by the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General. The indictment states that the former deputy chief – head of the mobilization department of the Sabunchu district department of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription A. Huseynov received a bribe for providing a false medical report with an increase in the period of ineligibility for military service by three years, and T. Iskenderov received a bribe for a guarantee that a certain person will not be called up for active military service.
