Judgement against a person accused of tax evasion on an especially large scale

In Azerbaijan, Natig Gasimov was sentenced to 7 years in prison for creating 10 companies and evading large-scale tax payments to the state budget, oxu.az reports with reference to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy. According to the information, the citizen was also registered as a taxpayer with several tax authorities and worked as a manager of various enterprises.

By the judgement of the Yasamal District Court dated August 5, 2023, N. Gasimov was found guilty under Article 213.3 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 6 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold financially responsible positions in state and local government bodies and to engage in entrepreneurial activity for a period of 2 years. Taking into account the previous sentence, he was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 7 years with deprivation of the right to occupy materially responsible positions in state and local government bodies and to engage in entrepreneurial activity for a period of 3 years.
