In Azerbaijan, customs officers were arrested for accepting a bribe in exchange for moving medicine through a checkpoint

The investigation continues into the criminal case initiated by the prosecutor’s office of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the fact of the uncontrolled movement of medicines from the Republic of Turkey to the territory of Azerbaijan through the Sadarak customs post.
According to the Nakhchivan bureau of APA, in this criminal case, two employees of the customs post “Sadarak” of the Main Customs Department of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were brought in as defendants, who were brought in as defendants under articles 200-1.2.2 (illegal trafficking of medicines by a group of persons with preliminary conspiracy), 200-1.2.3 and 311.3.1 (taking a bribe) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic. A court decision imposed a preventive measure against them in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months.
A preliminary investigation is currently underway.
